Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify insurance, and prepare medical records for appointments.
- Clinical Support: Take vital signs, assist providers during exams, and prepare treatment rooms.
- Lab Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and EKGs accurately and efficiently.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments, handle phone inquiries, and manage patient billing inquiries.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols and safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- License: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a varied schedule, including some evenings or weekends if required.
