Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and documenting accurate medical histories.
- Assist providers during exams and minor procedures, ensuring a sterile and comfortable environment for patients.
- Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing according to established protocols.
- Maintain and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Greet patients warmly, manage check-in/check-out processes, and schedule follow-up appointments accurately.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and preventative health measures.
- Collaborate with front-office staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or medical office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy clinical environment.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation.
