Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance and demographic information, and prepare examination rooms for visits.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist providers with patient exams, wound care, and minor procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Vital Signs & Triage: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and perform basic health screenings.
- Lab & Testing: Collect blood, urine, and other specimens for laboratory analysis following strict safety protocols.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications under the supervision of a physician, documenting all treatments in the EHR.
- Administrative Support: Manage appointment scheduling, process patient check-ins and check-outs, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, OSHA standards, and clinic policies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification: Current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification is highly preferred; NCMA accepted.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Availability: Must be available for immediate start and flexible with shifts as needed.
