Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight), and update patient medical histories.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations, perform phlebotomy, and administer EKGs as required.
- Lab Duties: Collect and process lab specimens, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to the lab.
- Administrative Support: Schedule patient appointments, manage incoming calls, and handle insurance verification and referrals.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of medical supplies and inventory levels.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Currently certified or eligible for certification as a CMA, RMA, or MA (NCMA).
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Adaptability: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm demeanor.
