Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intakes, vitals assessment, and prepare patients for examinations by physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Administer basic medications and injections as directed by licensed providers, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and manage patient charts efficiently.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments, referrals, and laboratory tests to ensure continuity of care.
- Perform basic phlebotomy and point-of-care testing (POCT) in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Assist with clinical procedures and prepare treatment rooms for daily operations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and insurance providers regarding medical needs and billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required; recent graduates with externship experience may be considered.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a family practice or outpatient clinic.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation are preferred.
