Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Obtain vital signs, perform basic health screenings, and prepare patients for examinations by physicians and nurses.
- Procedures: Administer injections, vaccinations, and perform EKGs according to strict safety protocols.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient records accurately, handle insurance verification, and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring quality control and timely reporting.
- Communication: Greet patients warmly, answer phone inquiries, and provide clear instructions for follow-up care.
- Inventory: Maintain stock levels of medical supplies and ensure examination rooms are clean and fully stocked.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Michigan Medical Assistant license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform physical examinations.
