Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, including taking vitals, medical history, and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and manage inventory of medical supplies.
- Administer medications, injections, and perform basic phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
- Coordinate patient appointments, handle incoming calls, and manage front desk reception duties.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and clinic policies.
- Greet patients warmly and ensure a positive patient experience from check-in to check-out.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association).
- 1+ years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty medical setting preferred.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to educate patients clearly.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume medical environment.
