Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist physicians during procedures.
- Phlebotomy & Admin: Perform venipuncture, administer injections, and handle basic laboratory specimen collection.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and patient charts.
- Communication: Greet patients warmly, answer phones, and relay clear instructions to patients and staff.
- Administrative Support: Verify insurance information, schedule appointments, and process billing transactions.
- Sanitation: Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and sterilization standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or MA certification preferred).
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy and confidentiality.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
