Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations) and document them in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and ensure strict sterilization protocols are followed.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Manage patient intake, including verifying insurance information, updating medical histories, and collecting co-pays.
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations as directed by licensed providers.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments, referrals, and specialist consultations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and clinical area at all times.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred; recent graduates may be considered with relevant externship experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Valid State of Florida Medical Assistant license required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or multi-specialty practice.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare setting.
