Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform routine vital signs, health assessments, and screenings to monitor patient well-being.
- Assist Providers: Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians and nurse practitioners during procedures.
- Documentation: Accurately maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) and clinical charts.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and injections as directed by providers and ensure proper documentation.
- Coordination: Schedule appointments, handle referrals, and coordinate laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized clinical environment to ensure patient safety.
- Communication: Educate patients on treatment plans and medications and serve as a liaison between patients and the front office.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or equivalent is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Professionalism: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Availability: Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
