Responsibilities
- Clinical Care: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations, prepare treatment rooms, and ensure equipment is sterilized.
- Phlebotomy: Perform blood draws and process lab specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Patient Education: Explain procedures, medications, and aftercare instructions to patients and families in a clear, empathetic manner.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-in/out, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, height, weight, and blood pressure.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols to maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification is required.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy and EKG procedures is highly desired.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
