Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and patient education
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain accurate documentation
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure examination rooms are stocked and sanitized
- Facilitate communication between patients, providers, and administrative staff
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and hospital safety protocols
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Active CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Strong phlebotomy and clinical procedure skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and multitasking abilities
- Ohio BLS certification required
