Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring patient dignity and comfort at all times.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report any significant changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient preferences, ensuring a safe eating environment.
- Document patient care activities and medical information accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in compliance with infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required for compassionate candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as necessary.
- Candidate must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
