Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign measurement and medical history documentation
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision and confidentiality
- Perform laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and specimen processing
- Handle administrative duties including scheduling, billing codes, and insurance verification
- Maintain sterile examination environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care coordination
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar)
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
