Responsibilities
- Greet patients and prepare them for examinations, including obtaining vital signs and recording medical histories.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during clinical procedures and examinations.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Perform basic EKGs and point-of-care testing.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for analysis.
- Update and maintain patient medical records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system accurately and confidentially.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and manage referral processes.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient engagement.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
