Responsibilities
- Perform routine vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and accurate medical history screenings.
- Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Manage administrative duties including scheduling appointments, updating Electronic Health Records (EHR), and verifying insurance information.
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and maintain exam rooms to strict hygiene standards.
- Administer injections, medications, and immunizations under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients to answer questions and provide clear post-care instructions.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required; graduation from an accredited program is a plus.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as required by clinical duties.
- Valid Washington State driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including some weekends and holidays.
