Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and escort them to the examination room to ensure a smooth intake process.
- Assist providers with patient examinations by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Perform vital sign measurements (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and document results accurately in the EMR system.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including drawing blood (phlebotomy) and performing EKGs when qualified.
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, handling phone inquiries, and processing insurance verifications.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and common areas to adhere to strict health and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty practice setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) software, such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy clinical setting while maintaining attention to detail.
