Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic lab testing
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and patient documentation
- Schedule appointments and manage patient correspondence
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked and sanitized per infection control protocols
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current Indiana MA certification (CMA or RMA preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience strongly preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced medical setting
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient privacy (HIPAA compliance)
