Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, check them in, and collect necessary demographic and insurance information.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all supplies are stocked.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, height, weight, and EKGs as required.
- Perform basic laboratory duties, including blood draws and point-of-care testing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and post-care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred; completion of an accredited medical assistant program is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record systems.
