Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and check them in, verifying insurance information and collecting co-pays.
- Record vital signs, update patient medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines under the direct supervision of a provider.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis or blood draws, and process specimens.
- Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and clean exam rooms to ensure infection control standards.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is highly preferred.
- Current Florida State Medical Assistant license or certification.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Previous experience in a family practice or outpatient setting is a plus.
