Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient intake, including medical history review and vital signs measurement.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure infection control standards are met.
- Administer injections, perform phlebotomy, and assist with basic laboratory tests.
- Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) to ensure accurate documentation.
- Provide patient education on medication and follow-up care instructions.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and handle incoming calls with a professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current New York State Medical Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and HIPAA compliance certification required.
