Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations and clinical procedures.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and diagnostic testing to ensure patient comfort.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Lab & Vital Signs: Perform basic laboratory tests, blood draws, and EKGs while monitoring vital signs.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and preventative health measures.
- Front Office Duties: Manage phone calls, schedule appointments, and handle check-in/check-out processes.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Licensure: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Flexibility: Ability to work varying shifts and adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- License: Valid driver's license and current Florida state ID.
