Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during clinical procedures.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient records, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests, draw blood, and process specimens accurately.
- Communication: Greet patients warmly, answer phones, and direct inquiries to the appropriate department.
- Instruction: Provide patient education on medication and treatment plans as directed by the physician.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict hygiene standards and sterilization protocols in the clinical setting.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification preferred.
- Licensure: Valid state medical assistant license for Michigan (and North Carolina if relocating).
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) software and basic computer skills.
- CPR: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
