Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and record accurate data in electronic health records (EHR).
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting providers and maintaining a clean, sterile environment.
- Administer injections and medications as directed by licensed healthcare providers, strictly following safety protocols.
- Manage front desk operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying patient insurance.
- Assist with minor medical procedures and perform basic laboratory tests, such as phlebotomy.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient flow and timely follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or equivalent experience is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR) such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as necessary.
- Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screening.
