Responsibilities
- Clinical Duties: Perform vital signs, administer medications and injections as directed, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient intake, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR).
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, answering inquiries and providing clear instructions.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification: Current certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
- Interpersonal: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong patient-centered approach.
- Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by department needs.
