Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, physical exams, and prepare patients for provider consultations in a timely manner.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed by licensed physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Manage and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately, ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and laboratory services to optimize clinic flow.
- Assist providers during examinations with procedural support and patient positioning.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile clinical environment in accordance with hygiene protocols.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide exceptional customer service at the front desk when needed.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current New York State Medical Assistant license or equivalent certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced clinical setting is highly preferred.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting patients.
