Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify personal and insurance information, and escort them to examination rooms.
- Clinical Support: Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts, update Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, and handle front-desk tasks such as scheduling appointments.
- Phlebotomy & Labs: Perform blood draws, administer injections, and prepare specimens for lab analysis accurately and efficiently.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medications, follow-up care, and wellness tips to patients and their families.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, sanitized environment and adhere strictly to all HIPAA compliance and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient clinic setting.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
