Responsibilities
- Perform patient intakes, including reviewing medical history and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
- Assist providers during examinations by preparing instruments and medications.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and minor procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized examination environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting (1+ years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic.
