Responsibilities
- Perform accurate vital signs, medical histories, and patient screenings prior to provider exams.
- Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations and procedures in a calm and professional manner.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain strict infection control protocols.
- Perform basic laboratory duties, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and urine analysis.
- Manage patient intake, verify insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
- Provide compassionate customer service to patients and families, answering questions and addressing concerns.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
