Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure a sterile and safe environment for patients.
- Assist physicians and advanced practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms accurately.
- Perform clinical duties including phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests.
- Manage patient intake, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling efficiently.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and OSHA safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding instructions and next steps.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent (Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
