Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests (phlebotomy), prepare specimens, and log results accurately.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information.
- Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) and maintain patient charts in compliance with HIPAA.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
- Instruct patients on medication, diet, and home care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
