Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify personal information, and prepare patients for examination by the healthcare provider.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, weight).
- Assistance: Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during exams and procedures as directed.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification and prior authorizations.
- Phlebotomy & Labs: Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples for laboratory analysis according to strict protocols.
- Communication: Effectively communicate test results and treatment plans to patients and families.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA, RMA, or Medical Assistant certification required.
- Licensure: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKG, and electronic medical records (EMR) software.
- Interpersonal: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
