Responsibilities
- Greet patients and prepare them for examination by taking vitals, medical history, and updating records.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during exams and procedures.
- Administer injections, vaccinations, and perform basic laboratory tests as directed.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Perform light clerical duties, including scheduling appointments and answering phone calls.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary exam room environment.
- Provide patient education on medications and post-procedure care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is highly preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid Louisiana Medical Assistant license (if applicable to the specific role).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
