Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including patient examinations, injections, and wound care
- Administer medications and perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic lab tests
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health systems (EHR)
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize equipment following infection control protocols
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations during night shifts
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medication instructions
- Respond to emergency situations with calm professionalism and follow established protocols
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Valid CPR certification and BLS certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shifts
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate bedside manner
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and emergency situations
