As a Medical Assistant on our night shift, you will be the vital link between our patients and our clinical staff. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of care and patient safety during the evening hours. Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations) and patient symptoms.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor office procedures; perform phlebotomy and EKGs as required.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse or physician.
- Charting & Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date Electronic Health Records (EHR) and ensure all patient visits are documented promptly.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-in/check-out processes, verify insurance, and coordinate referrals.
- Emergency Response: Respond to code blue situations and assist in stabilizing patients in accordance with hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent (RMA, MA) required.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in an urgent care or hospital environment.
- Schedule: Must be willing and able to work night shifts (e.g., 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) including weekends and holidays.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong patient-centric approach.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using EMR/EHR software (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
