Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations and procedures.
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and respiration rate.
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for lab testing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment.
- Administer medications and injections according to physician orders and safety protocols.
- Greet patients, verify insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates with externship experience will be considered.
- Ability to work flexible night shift hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
