Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Obtain vital signs, record patient medical history, and prepare patients for examination.
- Procedures: Assist providers with procedures, perform phlebotomy, and administer medications as directed.
- Administrative Duties: Update and file patient charts, schedule appointments, and manage insurance verification.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and care plans.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and assist in triage during the night shift.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Licensure: Current CMA or RMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience, preferably in an urgent care or hospital setting.
- Skills: Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and computer skills.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- Attributes: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a night shift environment.
