Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake, including updating medical histories and recording vital signs.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations, procedures, and patient rounds.
- Perform and process laboratory specimens, including phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, ensuring all patient data is up-to-date.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and follow-up appointments efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe clinical environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Provide compassionate patient education and discharge instructions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Valid New York State Medical Assistant license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively during night shift hours.
- Proficiency in standard medical software and office equipment.
