As a Medical Assistant on our night shift, you will be the first point of contact for our patients during the evening hours, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and comfort. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and record accurate data in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist physicians and registered nurses with patient examinations, wound care, and basic procedures during the night shift.
- Prepare examination rooms for the next day, restocking supplies and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis or EKGs, and process specimens promptly.
- Greet patients, verify insurance information, and manage check-in/check-out procedures efficiently.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider as required.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or urgent care environment.
- Strong proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a night shift team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts, holidays, and weekends.
