Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and accurately measure vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and weight.
- Assist providers during clinical procedures, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and injections.
- Document patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system with precision and timeliness.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding instructions, medications, and follow-up appointments.
- Manage administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, processing insurance claims, and answering phone lines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional atmosphere in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a clinic or hospital.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience with electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth) is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks during the night shift.
- High school diploma or GED required.
