Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and escort them to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight, accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting physicians and recording medical histories.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, and prepare samples for analysis.
- Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and handling insurance verification.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Provide patient education on preventative care and post-procedure instructions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive motions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for facility travel.
