Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations, assist providers during visits, and perform basic clinical procedures such as vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient intake, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification and billing inquiries.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient use, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the medical team, answering questions and providing clear instructions.
- Coordination: Schedule appointments, manage prescription refills, and coordinate specialist referrals.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar) and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure.
