Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and updating electronic health records (EHR).
  • Assist providers during clinical procedures, including examinations and minor office surgeries.
  • Perform and process basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and EKGs, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Administer medications, injections, and immunizations according to strict physician orders and protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sterilized examination room environment.
  • Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries, and verifying insurance.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and ensure comfort during visits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is highly preferred.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting.
