Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with draping and positioning, and recording vital signs.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform and assist with diagnostic testing, including EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic lab draws.
- Manage patient records electronically, updating charts and documenting clinical notes accurately.
- Greet patients warmly, answer phones, and schedule appointments to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Assist with the preparation of examination rooms, sterilization of equipment, and inventory management.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as required by the role.
