Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and maintain accurate medical records
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and administer medications under supervision
- Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs, phlebotomy, and lab specimen collection
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and coordinate with healthcare teams
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality protocols
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Support inventory management and sterilization of medical equipment
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Valid Florida state license and clean background check
