Responsibilities
- Perform Clinical Duties: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations, taking vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms.
- Diagnostic Support: Accurately perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests under strict quality control standards.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage patient check-ins, update electronic health records (EHR), and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, ensuring proper documentation and patient safety.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and preventative health measures to improve outcomes.
- Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized clinic environment in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from an accredited institution.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing program.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a physician practice or outpatient setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
