Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examinations under the supervision of physicians and nurses.
- Assistive Procedures: Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and drawing blood.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, schedule appointments, and handle patient billing inquiries.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and medical staff to ensure clear and effective communication.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict sanitation and infection control policies to ensure a safe environment for all.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is mandatory; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and strong computer skills.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure.
