Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and updating records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as authorized by the provider.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage incoming calls, and handle front-desk administrative tasks.
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and wellness programs.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification must be current and maintained.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is preferred.
