Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk, including verifying insurance coverage and checking patients in efficiently.
- Take and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits by sanitizing equipment and arranging necessary instruments.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Manage medical records accurately, ensuring all patient data is up-to-date and strictly confidential.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and document all treatments in the EHR.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding follow-up care, test results, and instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, as needed.
