Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in processes, verifying demographic information and insurance details accurately.
  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vitals, recording medical history, and explaining procedures to ensure patient comfort.
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and proper equipment setup.
  • Perform basic laboratory tasks, including phlebotomy, urinalysis, and EKGs, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Manage and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and medical charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by providers, strictly following safety protocols.
  • Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals, acting as a liaison between the patient and the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
